There is no sufficient evidence that suggests that talking on hands-free cell phones is safer than talking on hand-held phones. The distraction arises out of the conversation, and not out of holding the phone. Although there is a higher risk associated with dialing a number than with talking, according to some studies, the phone conversations rather than dialing puts a driver in danger of being distracted.
