OSHA Warning Signs, as under OSHA section 1910.145, are used to represent a hazard level between “Danger” and “Caution” i.e. risks that lie between immediate hazards that present a threat of death or serious injury to employees and minor hazard situations where a non-immediate or potential hazard or unsafe practice presents a lesser threat of employee injury.
• OSHA states that “The signal word and the major message shall be understandable to all employees who may be exposed to the identified hazard.” Following which, OSHA Warning signs have a standard design of warning text in black on orange background, to be easily recognizable by all.
